Project 01: Nebula UI — A Scalable Design System

Overview:
Nebula UI is a modular design system built to streamline product development across multiple teams in a fast-growing SaaS company. I was brought on to design the system from the ground up, focusing on consistency, accessibility, and developer handoff.

My Role:

• Design System Architect

• UI/UX Designer

• Frontend Developer (Framer prototypes)

Challenges:

• Existing products had inconsistent design patterns and poor documentation

• Developers and designers were working in silos

• No component library or design tokens were in place

Process:

• Conducted an audit of all existing UI elements and flows

• Defined foundational tokens (spacing, typography, color, grid)

• Built responsive components in Figma and Framer for interactive previews

• Collaborated with developers to create reusable code components

• Documented everything in an internal design wiki

Outcome:

• Reduced design-to-dev time by ~35%

• Created a unified design language adopted by 4 product teams

• Helped onboard new designers 2x faster with the new documentation
